Which First Aid Course Does Your WA Business Need?

Get the right qualification
Confusion over course names or choosing a course that does not meet the national standard can leave gaps in your first aid cover and training that does not stick.
- The standard: HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the nationally recognised qualification used by workplaces, schools and community groups across Australia. It covers CPR, defibrillation, anaphylaxis response with an auto-injector, and injury management.
- Beyond the basics: HLTAID012 focuses on childcare and educational settings. HLTAID014 Advanced First Aid is a good way to equip your safety officers. If you work in a remote area, HLTAID013 for Remote and Isolated Areas is built for that setting.
- Guidelines: Training follows the current Australian and New Zealand Committee on Resuscitation (ANZCOR) guidelines. WA workplace first aid expectations are set out in the WorkSafe WA first aid code of practice.
- Renewal: The accepted guidelines are CPR every 12 months and the full first aid certificate every 3 years.
