Assessment

Assessment requirements are identical to the HLTAID011 blended refresher. All practical competencies are assessed throughout the session rather than in a separate exam. The extended duration means more practice time before assessment, not different assessment criteria.

Pre-course note: Online theory and quiz questions must be completed before attending the practical session. This is mandatory for first-time participants. A paper version is available on request.

Workplace First Aid Requirements Under WHS Legislation

Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Safe Work Australia guidelines, every workplace must ensure an adequate number of trained first aiders are available. HLTAID011 is the minimum qualification for a designated workplace first aider.

Low-risk workplaces
1 first aider per 50 workers
High-risk workplaces
1 first aider per 25 workers
Remote high-risk
1 first aider per 10 workers

Industries with specific requirements including childcare, education, mining, construction, and remote operations may require HLTAID012, HLTAID013, or HLTAID014. Contact Britt to discuss what is required for your industry and workplace.
